Description
: The North Long Island Jewish campus in Lake Success, New York is a large hospital campus with over 15 different buildings all being supplied with heating and cooling from a central utilities plant. The scope of the project was the convert this central plant to cogen power and stand alone separately from the Consolidated Edison electrical grid.
 
Services provided: FMMC and FMEC provided all mechanical and electrical construction services for this project. This scope included the purchase and installation of all of the following major equipment;

Two GE Jenbacher 1.4 MW Engines, with Heat Recovery Boilers for exhaust gasses and Heat           Recovery Heat Exchangers for Engine Jacket water cooling. 
One 2000kw Caterpillar 3516B Diesel engine for emergency power to the energy facility and to the entire campus.
One Asco Emergency Power and Cogen Power Switchgear assembly for cogen and emergency power integration with the facility and campus.
One 4160V Variable Speed Drive for an existing 2000 ton York chiller.
 
FMMC furnished and installed all equipment including piping and electrical connections. FMMC also performed startup and commissioning services to bring the plant online and transfer power supply of the facility from the Consolidated Edison electrical grid to the cogen system.
