Description
: 1 World Trade Center is the lead building of the new World Trade Center complex in lower Manhattan.  When the 105-story skyscraper is completed, it will be the tallest building in the United States. The building will have 2.6-million-square-foot of office space, restaurants and an observation deck.

Services Provided: Fabrication and installation of approximately three hundred feet of 16” high pressure steam piping. FMMC was responsible for a comprehensive pipe stress analysis including all anchors, slides, guides and expansion joints.  Included was the design and fabrication of tube steel type pipe supports which were attached to the existing slurry wall.  Some of the supports were attached to the wall with four foot square by two inch thick steel plates.  The anchor bolts used to attach the plates to the wall were the largest anchors manufactured by HILTI, the manufacturer.  All design, engineering, fabrication and installation were provided in accordance with Consolidated Edison’s high pressure steam specifications and procedures.
